This week's question:

Tell us about the most emotional scene you've ever read in a book - and how did you react? 

A couple of books came to mind when I saw that this was the question:

Umm, hi, I'm the most emotional book ever in the history of books - nice to meet you, get your effing tissue box.

I won't spoil anything, cause I don't roll like that, but geez this book made me cry for pretty much all of the final 1/3. I cried tears of happiness, tears of sadness, heartbreaking tears, tears of joy, tears of beauty...etc. If there is another type of tears, I cried those too.



Listen, if you've read this book - and survived - then you should earn a freaking medal. There are two ridiculously emotional scenes in this, one of which had my arm cocked back to throw my book. Thank goodness I stopped myself, but geez. I couldn't go to sleep after reading this particular scene because I couldn't breathe through my nose from all the crying. Ugly crying, people. 

The rooftop scene between Terrible and Chess followed by the cemetery scene between Terrible, Chess, and Lex - yeah, I almost didn't survive those two scenes. The emotion, the embarrassment, the betrayal...good god I'm surprised I lived through it. Talk about getting hit right in the feels.

This week's question:

What is your guilty pleasure as far as reading? Is it a genre? Or is it a certain type of book?

I was surprised by my own answer! Young Adult is definitely my guilty pleasure. My fave genres are adult Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance, with all their fighting, supernatural mysteries, and steamy sex. But, a YA book is a guilty pleasure for me because I can read them quickly and often the plots are more straightforward. Its fun to read about characters in those tumultuous teen years, coming of age and experiencing all the angst and first love. And when you throw in vamps, weres, witches, goddesses, post-apocolyptic worlds, and other monsters, things get EVEN BETTER! Some YA books are even more complicated, emotional, and shocking than adult books. And when a YA book is like that it feels like even MORE of a guilty pleasure!

Who is your favorite villain from a book?

Ooh what a great question! When I saw this question the first villain to pop into my head was Otto from Carolyn Crane's Disillusionist Trilogy.

It's a matter of preference, really.

He really is a terrific villain because he kind of sneaks up on you. You don't really know whether or not to trust him and even though he's a villain he has some good qualities that make you want to like him too. Mostly, I just felt a mix of pity and rage when it came to Otto. Any "bad guy" that can make you feel that many different feelings about him is a great, multi-faceted villain!

What have you learned from book blogging that you didn't know before about the publishing industry?

Everything!
For one, I didn't know that publishers sent out advanced copies of books for review so far in advance. And I definitely didn't know they sent out copies to people like us, regular, everyday people who just like to talk about books online. That's crazy, right? I thought review books went out to serious and highly respected book reviewers and publications only!

Every day I feel so lucky to be a part of the book blogging community!

What would you do over if you were to start your blog again from scratch?

Probably create it on Wordpress instead of Blogger. A lot of bloggers have made the switch in the last few months, but its just too much work for me right now and I really don't want to learn a new system for posting!

What is/was your favorite required summer reading book?

I wasn't really sure how to answer this question so I'm going to answer it in two parts.

First, I didn't have required summer reading when I was in high school but I has PLENTY of required reading during the school year. My favorite book out of all those required reads was:

Catcher in the Rye

J.D. Salinger

I always really loved this book and actually read it again a few years ago.

This week's question:

How did you get started blogging?

Like many other readers it all began on Goodreads! 

I got back into reading a few years ago and then somehow stumbled into a love for paranormal/fantasy books. Then somehow I came to find Goodreads. At first I just used the site for book recommendations and to read others' reviews, but after I became more involved and made some friends on the site I started discovering people's book blogs. 

Unfortunately, one of the first blogs I came to love is no longer up and running. It was called Dirty, Sexy Books and it was awesome! One of the others I first discovered was All Things Urban Fantasy - and I think we all know that one is going strong!  :)

Eventually I started writing reviews on Goodreads. I found I really liked putting my thoughts about a book into words and then sharing them with someone else. One day last year (actually, almost exactly one year ago) I just threw caution to the wind and started creating a blog!

And NOW, I'm a few weeks away from my one year blogoversary!

Here is this week's question:

If you could "unread" a book, which one would it be? 

Would it be because you want to start over and experience it for the first time? 

Or is it because it was THAT bad?

I can't really think of any books that were SO bad I wish I had never read them. So I'll go with the other option: 

Books I Wish I Could "Unread" So That I could Experience Them For the First Time All Over Again

Who wouldn't want to start the Fever series all over again as if you'd never read it? I would love to read it from the beginning again!!! I didn't know the EPICNESS that I was getting myself into when I started this series, oh to be able to do it all over again!

When I read this book I texted my best friend before even finishing it to tell her to get a copy NOW. For me, no one can match Bones' combination of sexy and funny. And his accent??? Did you ever think you could love someone's accent. . . . .when READING it?

I was nervous before reading this book, but I have never been so glad I took a chance on something. This series is completely different from anything I've ever read and I just can't explain my LOVE for these books.
