Read This F@!# ing Book Rebooted

Did you know Read This F@!#ing Book debuted in 2012? I found some of my favorite series because of those first posts. This year we've decided to look back at a few of our favorite RTFBs and update them for 2015. We'll keep doing new ones too, so if you have a favorite book or series that you think deserves some attention or if you'd like to guest post, let us know.

Welcome to a feature I'm going to post on Mondays called:

Read This F@!%ing Book!

This is a feature for me to push my favorite reads that just aren't getting enough attention!

I'm also opening it up to anyone who would like to guest post. Do you have a book that you just LURVED but feel like it's not getting the play it deserves? Email me to let me know and I'd be THRILLED to have you post about it here! Especially if its something I haven't reviewed yet - that's even better (but not necessary)! If you're interested email me:

Today's post comes from:
Jennifer The Book Nympho

Jennifer is rebooting her guest post from March of 2013.

Read This F@!%ing Book Post 12.1: The Jane Yellowrock series Rebooted

Skinwalker (Jane Yellowrock, #1)Mercy Blade (Jane Yellowrock, #3)Blood Cross (Jane Yellowrock, #2)

Why I'm pushing it:
Great UF series for those that love a hard as nail heroine that has a soft side they protect from others. Well written with outstanding characters and world development. The Jane Yellowrock series has it all; vamps, weres, fae and witches. Lots of bloody action and a touch of romance.

Why I loved Jane in 2013:
She's a kick ass rogue vampire hunter. She's a skinwalker which means she's more than just a were. She can change into almost any animal but her beast prefers the form of a mountain lion. I find the inner monologue between Jane and Beast very interesting and well written. So instead of one heroine you get two.

Why I Still LOVE this series in 2015:
Jane is still kicking butt and taking names! Jane and Beast have added a few new tricks to their bag since I last spoke about why you should F@&$ reading this series. There’s been more vampires, weres and witches making trouble in NOLA and Jane has put most of them in their place. I say most because there’s still a couple I feel like she should just put  in the ground instead of taking their crap!

If you’re looking for an Urban Fantasy series with a strong heroine with a heart of gold you should check out Faith Hunter’s Jane Yellowrock series because after 8 installments it’s still one of my favorite series in the UF genre.

If you are into audios you MUST experience Jane on audio. Khristine Hvam IS JANE YELLOWROCK! She just knocks the narration out of the park from the timing to the characters' accents. I won books 4 and 5 in paperback but I love the narration so much that I bought them in audio.

Like I said before, Khristine Hvam IS JANE YELLOWROCK! Her performance of the series is just stellar! Jane is an audio only series for me. I’ll always pass up an ARC in favor of waiting for the audios to release.

  1. I have yet to start this series. I need to some day soon.

  2. I actually heard about this series when book 1 came out so I've read the series from the beginning. I haven't tried the audio versions yet. Will give them a shot now that I've read your very positive review.

  3. This is a very compelling review, and I have yet to try audiobooks. This might be the series to get me going.

I love to read comments!
