Here is this week's question:
If you could change the ending of any book (or series), which book would you choose? Why and to what?
I've been pretty happy with the endings to most of the series that I've read that have actually ended, so for this one I'm just going to have a little fun. I'm going to talk about the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning.
If you haven't read or finished this series (Shadowfever) don't keep reading!!!!!!!!!!
Hmm...how about if Dani DIDN'T get Mac's sister killed. Sheesh. I would like that for sure. I know that it was an accident, but it made my jaw drop and tears well up in my eyes to read that part of the book. What if V'lane wasn't Cruce? What if he turned out to just be exactly who he told everyone he was the whole series? Would Mac have maybe eventually been even more interested in him (I'm talking in hypotheticals here, OF COURSE there is no one better than Barrons - he is my secret boyfriend after all...).
So, Mac and Dani ended the book the best of friends and got together every weekend to paint their toenails and watch horror movies. And a love triangle formed between Mac, V'lane, and Barrons ala the Dark Swan series or the Shifters series or the Sookie Stackhouse series. Eventually, the three of them just decided to be a threesome (gasp!) and they all lived happily ever after (and took K'Vruck out for a ride every night........).
THE END

I wouldn't agree with that. I mean I liked it b/c the person you got her killedd you never would've expected and I like that about KMM. she totally caught me off guard with that. I actually blame Rowena though b/c she did something to make Dani do it I remember. ugh. bitch. I think what I would change is how the books ended. Mac and Dani didn't even talk. I mean their last comversation was Mac finding out it was Dani that murdered her sister which is sad. I wish there was some kind of conversation with Dani and Mac before the book ended. But that was the only thing about the book I would change.
ReplyDeletebut there were a lot of what if moments in Shadowsfever for me =DDD

I had to quit this series two-and-half books in, because my eReader was in danger being thrown across the room. ;) So I read your spoilers! It's actually kinda nice to know how it all ends. LOL

Hi, Goldilox! I haven't read the Fever series yet -- it's in my TBR pile -- so I couldn't read your response. But I'm a big fan of Karen Marie Moning's Highlander series. :-)

Thanks for stopping by! I'm an old follower.
ReplyDeleteI actually loved how the Fever series ended, but I think your alternate ending would have been interesting too! I really hope Cruce is in her next series. I'm not ready to close the book on him yet. He's no Barrons, but he has potential.
Have a great weekend!
