The Synopsis
A grifter looking to make good...

Kat Harris is good at three things: lying, running, and listening to her con artist parents. All three collided when she fell for a man that was supposed to be a mark, forcing the Harris family to flee Sulla Valley forever. Five years later, her dad's in jail and she's back in search of a fresh start--and a new opportunity to rekindle an old romance. Problem is, the only family she has left isn't so keen on going legit, and a criminal past like hers isn't that easy to outrun.

A billionaire tempted to break bad...

Adam has no time for any woman with dollar signs in her eyes--especially since the girl he'd fallen for turned out to be a gold-digging hustler. So when she walks back into his life, he's prepared to kick her right back to the curb her felonious family came from. If only he could forget how good they were together.

Sometimes, two wrongs make a delicious right.

Falling back into her world could cost him his reputation. Dragging him into her troubles will cost her what's left of her pride. But if they take the risk, a reformed con artist and the billionaire she wants most might find something even more valuable... a chance at real love.

I Gave 4.5 Stars To A Trope I Usually Hate
I'll be honest. If I pick up a book and see that one of the characters is a billionaire in the synopsis, I usually won't read it. I've never enjoyed a story that uses that trope until now. Why did I enjoy this one and not the others? It probably has a little bit to do with the fact that the author, Rin Daniels, is the contemporary romance alter-ego of one of my favorite authors, Karina Cooper.

Daniels wrote a story about Kat and Adam but it is so much more than a romance! Kat is trying to turn honest and is having one heck of a time doing it. She was an excellent con artist and is only doing okay at being good. She was constantly struggling to not set up cons everywhere! You can't help but fall in love with Kat! She's a completely refreshing heroine in the contemporary genre.

I loved the characters and how they fit into the story! There certainly is chemistry between Kat and Adam and their romance is quite steamy! But what really made the story for me was Kat's struggles. Her life kept flipping back and forth between wonderful and disastrous. Quite frankly, I had no idea how things would work out or even if they would. The story is full of little twists from chapter one that just kept me guessing. Hell! There's no way I could have predicted that ending!

ALL Of The Characters Are Fantastic!
Kat's not the only one trying to find her place. Adam is constantly struggling to prove that he deserves his place in his father's company. He is the most relatable billionaire I've read about because he is dealing with situations that most of us have had to deal with. He has to work hard to keep his business in good standing all while dealing with his family's image after all of his father's philandering.

The secondary characters in this book are amazingly done and they only add to the story! We have Kat's fiscally irresponsible mother and her quirky new best friend and they each represent different parts of Kat's life. Her mother is a remnant of her old life and Nadine is the shiny part of the new one. Seriously. EVERYTHING in this story is just amazing! Okay. Maybe I need to tone down the gushing a bit...

I devoured this book! It was a super fast read that I couldn't put down. Daniels self-published the book and it is available on all ereader platforms for ONLY $2.99! You can even buy it directly from Daniels yourself! (That's what I did.) You can find a link to do that here.

This is a book that I'd highly recommend if you're looking for a new contemporary romance to read. I know I'll definitely be picking up the next book in this series.
