*throws more confetti*

To keep my posts from being crazy long, I am only posting bits and pieces from the reviews I'm sharing. You can can find links to all reviews in their entirety under the Reviews tab.

Today's Favorite Reviews: Paranormal Romance

The Seduction of Phaeton Black
(Paranormal Investigator #1)
Jillian Stone

Goodreads     Amazon

Notable Book Quotes:
Truth be told, he was more than taken by her. Soon the little minx would capture him body and soul. From the very start she had wormed her way into his life and now he could hardly believe it himself. He was soft on Miss Jones. What a horrifying development this was.
"Do not fall in love with me, Miss Jones. And please do not come knocking at all hours of the day and night requesting my services." She snorted. "You are safe with me, for I do not believe in such affection. Men take love for granted; they do not prize it." He released her hands. "You claim to be a woman with no heart?" "A girl gives away the secrets of her heart, and a man is off down the lane for a toss up the neighbors skirt."
Review Quotes:

The Seduction of Phaeton Black is a sexy romp in the late 1880's London. With a bit of a Sherlock Holmes feel and some serious heat, this one is a historical paranormal romance keeper.

Phaeton and America have many hot sexual encounters, but keep their feelings for each other at arm's length for different reasons. The story is told from the alternating points of view of each, which sometimes bothers me in books but works well here. I loved reading what was going on inside each of their heads about each other and seeing their steamier moments from the different points of view was certainly fun.

Make no mistake, this PNR is heavy on the romance. Phaeton and America's trysts often had me fanning myself. Fans of PNR and "bodice rippers" should really get into Phaeton and America's story!

Firelight
(Darkest London #1)
Kristen Callihan

Notable Book Quotes:
"I am consumed," he whispered against her ear, and she shivered. "By you." Soft lips grazed her jaw in an agonizingly slow trail toward her waiting mouth. Her eyes squeezed tight. She could not bear it. The heat in her was fever bright. No part of him touched her, except that mouth. But oh, that mouth. It destroyed her composure as it moved with steady deliberation toward her lips.
"I love you. For one agonized moment, he feared he had said it out loud. His soul fairly shouted it. Three long years and not a day had passed when he hadn't thought about her. She'd filled his mind until she'd become the quintessence of womanly perfection, so much so that when he had come for her, he feared she might not live up to his impossible expectations. And she didn't. Yes, the real Miranda was brave, loyal, and pragmatic. She was also meddling, quarrelsome, and opinionated. The real Miranda was human, and by God, she took his breath away. He knew he would love her until the end of time. What was he to do?"
Review Quotes:

Firelight is an amazingly sexy, mysterious, passion-filled new release. New author, Kristen Callihan, combines paranormal and historical to create one of the best romances I've ever read.

Callihan gives us a slowly building romance between Archer and Miranda, teasing us with unbelievably sexy interludes between the two, but putting off "the big moment" until the reader is just dying for the two to get it on already!

Archer and Miranda are both damaged and both hide their own secrets. Their love grows slowly and their relationship builds throughout the story. The banter between the two, including many sexy quips from Archer, is almost as good as the romantic scenes.

Archangel's Blade
(Guild Hunter #4)
Nalini Singh

Goodreads     Amazon

Notable Book Quotes:
“In my time,” he said, “they believed in witches. Are you a witch, Honor, that you make me say these things to you?”
Causing him to rip open wounds that had stayed safely scabbed over for so long that, most of the time, he managed to forget they existed.
Her hands, so very, very gentle, continued to hold his face as she tugged him down until their foreheads touched.
“I’m no witch, Dmitri. If I was, I’d know how to fix you.”
“You,” she murmured, using both hands to undo his belt, “are the sexiest man I have ever met.”
He made her think bad thoughts simply by breathing.”
Review Quotes:

Singh manages to surpass the first three Guild Hunter books with her tale of redemption and healing.

I found myself loving Dmitri's dark and sexy outward personality, which was so different from the memories and feelings he kept inside his head. Honor was likable and believable as a tortured heroine trying to come to grips with life after her kidnapping. She wasn't wimpy and sullen, but rather a fierce hunter.

All in all, this was another awesome, dark, and sexy release by the talented Singh, whose beautiful writing style makes her paranormal romances stand out in the genre.
